The mud-brick fort stormed by Abdulaziz Ibn Saud in 1902 — the raid that began the unification of Saudi Arabia. The museum inside tells the story well, and the surrounding souq is the best place in Riyadh for oud, carpets and antiques.
Combine with the nearby Al-Zal souq and the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Grand Mosque square for an easy old-Riyadh walking loop.
